Noah Webster (October 16, 1758- May 28, 1843) was an American educator and politician. He served as the first Lord Secretary of Education, from 1806-1824, becuase of his successful blue backed spellers written in the 1780s. His cousin was Libertarian Congressman Daniel Webster.
